How we transcribed and checked the numbers

The numbers book (Getallenboek) is the legal annex to the budget. It lists every ledger line of day-to-day spending, in Dutch, to the guilder. We transcribed all 1,287 printed lines from the scanned document and ran 3,180 arithmetic checks on them by machine. Where a printed total is higher than the lines above it, we added a line marked “not itemised” for the difference (3 in all), so every total still adds up.

Added together, the 2027 column equals the total in the draft budget ordinance. Search it in English or Dutch below. Every line links to its page in the Dutch submission.

How to read the ledger and its reconciliation notes

Find a budget line

Type a word, travel or reiskosten, police, rent , or a ledger code. Narrow it down by ministry, by kind of cost, or by what changed since 2026. Under the filters you see how many lines match and what they add up to, and you can download exactly those lines.

Amounts are whole guilders, as printed. 2025 is the provisional result for that year, 2026 the budget Parliament approved, and 2027 this draft.

How to read a line

The largest single line in the draft, taken apart.

Education department (Afdeling Onderwijs) , the cost centre, the unit that spends. It belongs to Education, Culture, Youth & Sport.
Account
Subsidies , what the money is for. Its ledger code 442 starts with 44, the kind of cost: subsidies & transfers.
